My range partner and I started calling out each other's bad habits

We used to just shoot next to each other and say "nice shot." Then we made a deal to actually watch and give honest feedback. It was uncomfortable for about a week. After that we both improved faster than we had in the previous year combined...My advice: find someone who'll tell you the truth.

The best range partner isn’t the one cheering every shot, it’s the one politely roasting your bad habits!

That kind of honesty is gold at the range. A good shooting partner will improve your skills faster than solo practice.

A buddy once pointed out to me on the range that I was slapping the trigger during faster strings. That one comment actually helped me clean up a lot of my missed shots.
