What was your first handgun? I remember being so excited when I got mine, but I ended up trading it away. Do you still have yours, and how do you feel about it now? Share your stories or pics if you have them!
Mine was a Ruger P95. Big, clunky thing, but it ate anything and never jammed. I traded it off later and sometimes regret it, because it was my first. Not the prettiest, but it got me hooked.
My first was a Colt Gold Cup, Series 80; I loved that one. But my second was a S&W 586 from SEC, I was helped by the owner himself, who knew my brother. I gave it to a friend who was going to be a firefighter. I wish I had given him something else, so much so that I bought a 686 and haven't looked back since. However, every time I visit an LGS, I always look for a 586, but I'm not sure why.
I used to have a Sig Sauer .45 that I gave to my cousin. He totally fell in love with it the moment he saw it, and I couldn't say no haha. Now I'm looking for a new handgun.
My first handgun was a Ruger SR9. Nothing too flashy, but man, it was super reliable and showed me the ropes. I still have it actually. It doesn’t get as much love at the range these days now that I've added a few more guns to my collection, but there's something sentimental about it that keeps me holding on.
First one was a Dan Wesson model 15-6 in .357 magnum. I got it when I was 21, and I'll be 72 very soon. I wore it out. Also used it to hold a home invader at bay one night until the cops came and took him. No shots fired. It was the night of my 22nd birthday.
