Road Trip with a Gun

I’ve been planning a trip to visit some family and trying to figure out the best route. I want to bring my firearm along, but going through New York makes things pretty complicated. Avoiding NY adds a crazy amount of drive time, so I’m torn on what to do. I know I’m not the only one who's had to navigate these laws on the road. Has anyone else faced this situation? I’m open to suggestions on routes or how you handled bringing your gun through tricky states.

If you pass through NY, make sure your firearm is unloaded and locked up nice and tight in a hard case. It’s best to keep it separate from the ammo. And remember, try not to make any stops unless you really have to.
