My female friend was ignored for 20 minutes while they helped guys who came in after her. When they finally acknowledged her, they talked down and tried pushing pink guns because 'ladies like pink.' We walked out and spent money elsewhere. Being condescending isn't just bad ethics, it's bad business. Treat everyone with respect or lose customers..

Ugh, nothing worse than walking into that attitude. I’d rather drive farther than deal with condescension and cheesy color schemes.

I took my sister to a shop once and I watched the exact same scenario unfold. The guy just kept trying to push .38 snubbies on her, even though she clearly said she wanted to try a Glock 19. We just walked out, went to a different store and she bought a 19..

Glock 19 is a good, solid choice. Goldilocks right-size. Hopefully it was a Gen 3? more aftermarket support, if you want to "pimp your ride".

separately, an unrelated story.

I had been away from shooting for maybe 10 years, maybe more. Decided to "get back into it". Went into the local gun shop to buy a box of ammo, it used to be $7 last time I had been shooting. Didn't know what to think when I was told it was over $20. Total disbelief. Didn't know if I was being suckered, or if that was the going rate. Turns out that was the sale price, on top of it all. Guy behind the counter looked at me like I was from Mars, thought I was being a cheapskate. Had to totally revise my budget for the range session.
