Mag storage

I just got my permit, and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to carry daily. I'm pretty comfortable with the gun itself, but I'm a bit lost when it comes to handling a spare mag. Is it okay to just toss one in my pocket, or should I invest in a dedicated magazine holder? I really want to avoid picking up any bad habits right from the start.

In Hawaii, I’d prefer a carrier since humidity, sweat and pocket lint are issues. A decent holder not only protects the mag but also keeps things cleaner. Also, there are slim, low-profile mag carriers that are quite comfortable, even with lighter clothing.
